Weekend Wrap-Up

The kids and I spent the weekend in Sheridan.  Gavin was there Friday night and the kids had a big time playing with him.

It is so nice to go “home.”  E doesn’t like it when I call it home because Hickory Ridge is our home, but it will always be home too.  My parents are so good to me.  My Dad thoroughly cleaned my car and my Mom took out all of my car seats and washed them and put them back in.  I get to sleep in, sit down, and rest and it is AWESOME!  Thanks so much Mom and Dad!

Sam has been obsessed with astronauts and space since we took the kids to the shuttle launch.  He saw an astronaut costume in a magazine and decided that’s what he wanted to be for Halloween.  BB ordered his costume and was so excited to let him open it.Aug 11 038

We were going to save the helmet for closer to Halloween because we didn’t want it to get broken, but he kept saying, “Where’s the helmet, we need a helmet.”  So BB gave it to him.

Isn’t he just the cutest little space man!!!

He wore it the entire weekend.  We “accidentally” left it in Sheridan…maybe it will make it to Halloween!

News

Is it weird that I get my news from Channel 1 News at school???? Ha! By the way- Anderson Cooper was on Channel 1 when I was in school. I have always been a news junkie, not really political news, but I just liked knowing what was going on. I even wanted to be a newscaster. I always thought Little Rock had great news that related to me and my surroundings. WELL in the Ridge we have satellite and can only get Memphis news and it is awful!!! So at 10:00 instead of real news, I watch Chelsea Lately because it is hilarious!!!

The reason for this rambling is that today on Channel 1 News they introduced a new app for the I-Phone that would translate other languages for you. You can say- I need to find a restaurant- and the phone will say it back out loud to you and anyone near you in another language...how cool is that???

Reason number 354 why I need an IPhone!!!!! You know with all of the global traveling I do:)

I am at Mom and Dad's tonight and getting ready for some LR news.

I am taking Sawyer for his first haircut tomorrow...a little sad:(

Have a great weekend!

EACC Brochure

Kids_on_Campus-_Sam[1]

Look who is in the East Arkansas Community College Brochure…Sam!  Jessica took pics of the kids in Art Class and they used this one.  Linz does the marketing for EACC and emailed this to me.

Friday night E and I went to JB’s for dinner with friends.  We had a GREAT time!  We had a huge table and then there were several other tables of friends.  It was so nice to get to see everyone!  I really hope we can do this more often!  Linz snapped a couple of pics with her phone and sent them to me.

Kendall’s birthday is this month and Evyn’s was last month so they celebrated this weekend together.  They came by today to see the kids and it was so good to see them together.  Their mothers would be so proud!  Love you both!

I have been trying SO HARD to find some bedding for Sam’s new bed!  I can’t find anything I like except the Serena and Lilly navy/white stripe and Parker has it…so Jes they may have twinkie beds if I don’t find something soon!!!  I should start a business boys bedding/holiday pajamas…never can find what I want…ha!

Mommy was not getting out the door fast enough this morning!

We have been doing better in the mornings than I thought we would do.  I am doing as much as I can the night before.  I get everyone’s clothes out and ready and cups made and ready in the fridge.  I get ready and then wake the kids up, get them dressed, and then we are out the door.  They are doing so good at Melinda’s and wave bye to me from the door…no tears!  This was their first morning without Sam and I was a little worried, but they did great!

Sam has still been sleeping in his toddler bed.  His crib will convert into a full side bed and we have needed to covert it for a while now, but I have just been putting it off.  Well lately he has been throwing a fit about his bed!  He tells me he needs a big boy bed, that he wants me to tear it up, and last night the best yet…”I hate that STUPID bed”!  What????  We don’t say stupid!!!!  It was like he was cussing me!  So look what was in his room when we got home today…

School-kids 009

We had some rain today, so E went and bought everything and put it together.  The kids had a big time climbing all over it!

So, Nonna had some sheets at our house and I had a comforter here so we have put it together for now.  I need to go shopping for some new bedding, not sure when that will happen.  But, that boy went right to bed tonight…so EXCITED!  The stupid bed is gone!!!

This is what happens when I take the babies pacy from them to take a pic…ha!  Melinda has been working on helping me start weaning them off.  They just have it at nap time at her house, so we are making progress.

This week has been super busy, but we made it!  Tomorrow night E and I are going to dinner with a bunch of our friends and we are both excited!  We are leaving the babies with a babysitter for the first time (besides family and Sandra), I know they will be fine…I hope the sitter will:)

Have a great weekend!

Wee School Picnic

Wee Picnic 11 010

Today was a super busy day! This was our last day of staff development and our last day to prepare for our students.  We had very little time in our classrooms so I am a little stressed, but I know it will all pull together.

After school I went to pick up the kids and headed to the ENT for the babies check-up.  Dr. Smith thought Sawyer could wait for now for a new set of tubes.  He wants to see us again in 3 weeks.

After the appointment we all ate in Wynne and then Nonna took the babies home and E and I took Sam to his Wee School picnic.  We were able to meet his new teacher, Mrs. Tracey, she seemed super sweet and I know we are going to have a great year.  Sam loves Wee School and asks me every morning if we get to go to Wee School today.

I usually try to take his teachers a little “happy” at the beginning of the year.  I had in mind what I wanted to do and ran to Wal-Mart to try to pull it together and realized they had a $1 isle…you know like the stuff at the front of Target.  I saw this cute owl stuff and thought it was just to easy to pass up.

I stuffed it with a few other goodies and made a little tag.  Not bad for last minute:)

7 Years

Today is our 7 year anniversary.  We celebrated with friends at The Bottoms, E’s duck club, last night.  It was so nice to visit with friends who have been by our side during these 7 crazy years.

Anniversary 016

E cooked shrimp and steak and all the fixins, it was delicious. Adriane Allyn came and entertained us, it was so much fun!

BB came and kept the kiddos for us.  They had a wonderful visit.  We even fit in two trips to the park while she was here.

The past 7 years have been an adventure to say the least, and look what came from them:Anniversary 004

Sam is all about puzzles right now and is SO good at putting them together!

Last night E and I spent the night at The Bottoms.  The bedroom was hot so we pulled the mattress into the living room.  When we first got married we lived in The Bottoms.  E reminded me of the first night we came home from Jamaica after getting married, the house was so hot and we pulled the mattress into the living room that night too.  It’s strange that 7 years later we were doing the exact same thing.

Happy Anniversary E, I love you!  This has definitely been our best year yet!
