Go, Go, Go

We have been on the go!  Friday was my last day of school and we headed to the lake as soon as I got away at noon.  It has been non-stop since.

Friday-Monday-Lake

Monday- left lake drove to Sheridan

Tuesday- left Sheridan drove back the the Ridge in time for Sam’s ball game.

Wednesday- Blake kept kids while I went to Jonesboro to run errands.

Thursday- Took kids to Memphis to the Zoo.

Tomorrow- meeting Mom in Searcy to get the kids, going out to dinner to celebrate Lindsay’s bday in Memphis.

Saturday- heading to Sheridan

Sunday- back to the Ridge

GO, GO, GO

Blake is helping me this summer and I could not be happier!  She is SO GOOD with the kids and they LOVE her!!!  Sam cried when she went home today.  She spent the night last night and instead of crawling in bed with me at 6am he crawled in bed with her.  They can’t wait for her to come back next week!  It’s going to be a great summer!!!

Happy Alligator Day

Today, Blake and I took the kids to the zoo. It was cool and there wasn't much of a crowd, it was perfect! Sam kept saying, "happy alligator day."

I thought we could skip the Dino exhibit since we have seen it twice, but no! Baxley still didn't like it.

We had a great day!

Last day of Wee School

Last Friday was Sam's last day of Wee School for the year.  They had a water party outside and had a blast. We had a wonderful year this year and Sam learned so much.  Mrs. Tracey was a great teacher and Sam is already missing it.  Thanks Dana for the pics!

From the past week…

May 005

Pics of Bax before church last Sunday.  She has her phone and purse, what more does a girl need?

Oh yeah, their Barbie car!  She looks so big in this pic to me.

This boy melts my heart!

Kids watching videos of themselves on my phone.

May 005

A pic before church the week before.

I am so excited that my mom is coming tomorrow.  Between getting over the stomach virus, getting rid of the paci, and preparing for the lake I am a tired Momma.  Moms always know when you need them!  I hope I can always be there for my kids when they need me.

Bye, Bye, Paci

The babies have only been using their paci at night for a few months now.  Last week Baxley started wanting it all the time again.  I was not about to go back to that, so I decided it was time for the Vaught balloon tradition.  We tie the paci to balloons and send them to the baby birds.

Tervis Tumblers

Quick Update: We made it through the day without anyone getting sick…whoop whoop!!!!!  We all went back to school today and everyone is doing better:)

Now, on to my favorite cups.  I am obsessed with Tervis Tumblers!  I found some online at Bed Bath & Beyond and sent the link to my mom.  She bought me the ones that I picked out.  Well…the one’s I picked out are a little smaller than I thought.  They are great for water at home, but I like the bigger ones for leaving the house because I can fit an entire Diet DP in one.

I have one that was left at my house that has a ‘L’ on it.  It is probably Lindsay’s, but she won’t claim it…probably because she knows I love it!!!  So, I carry it to school all of the time and it is kind of a joke with my students.  They ask what does L stand for and I reply: L for Kelly

They don’t think it is funny!

Well last week one of my precious students surprised me with this:

cup

That’s right, it is a real ‘K’ for Kelly cup!

They are the best cups, they don’t sweat and hold ice all day.  They are worth their hefty price!

I created this post last week…and now I get to add that for Mother’s Day I got more cups:)  Oh the little things that excite me:)

Virus Vs. Vaught’s

Virus- 4 Vaught’s- 1

The stomach virus has taken our house by storm!!! It all started last Thursday when Ms. Melinda was closed because she was sick.  Sandra came and stayed with the babies and I took Sam on to Wee School and then he went home with a friend.  About 3:45 Sandra text me that Sawyer was sick and it all began.  He and Bax were sick all night and stayed home with Nonna on Friday.  Sunday night it hit me like never before.  I don’t think I have ever been that sick.  I was sick every 20 minutes for 12 hours.  Laura came by to bring me some medicine and saw how awful I looked and decided she was taking me to the doctor.  Of course I got sick the whole way there, while we were there, and on the way home.  Doc game me a shot and it worked because when we got home I went to sleep for almost 24 hours and didn’t get sick again.  Then as Nonna was brining kids home Tuesday afternoon, Sam got sick in her car.  So, Sam and I are home again today.

I’ve had just about all of the stomach virus I can handle!!!  E is avoiding us like the plague as you can imagine so hopefully he won’t get it.  I honestly think I would have ended up in the hospital if Laura hadn’t taken me when she did, I appreciate her so much!!! She is always taking care of me!

Nonna has been a life saver through this entire thing, she just steps right in to do whatever I need and takes the kids.  I am so blessed to have her to help me!!! Say a prayer that this thing is behind us and tomorrow we can have our lives back.  I’m going to have some more Gatorade and about to get busy with the Lysol!

Mother’s Day Gifts

May 004

Every year Ms. Melinda has the kids do something special for their mothers.  This year she had them make the cutest flowers out of their hands and feet.

May 005 May 006

The little phrase says, “This flower is special you see, because it is made from parts of me.  My hands and feet made each flower part, to show I love you with all my heart.” So cute!

May 007

They each made one of these too.

She also asked Sam some questions, All About My Mom.

What is your mom’s name? Kelly

How old is your mom? She is 22

What color is her hair? Blonde like mine

What is her favorite color? Pink and Purple

Where does she work? Beside my school

What is her favorite food? Sausage and Steak

What does she like to watch on tv? Her show

What does she like to do? Go to the lake house

What makes her happy? She’s happy when I love her

What makes her sad? When I don’t love her

Where is her favorite place to go? BB’s House

Why do you love her? Because I just love her

What does your mom like to cook? Sausage

What is her favorite song? Jesus Loves Me

What is her favorite animal? Monkey

I love hearing his answers to questions and could so see him saying some of these things!  I guess the sausage comes from my delicious breakfast casserole:)

I love these kiddos and appreciate Ms. Melinda taking the time to do these special projects with them!

May 001

This was one of the Wee School gifts.

I also received some great gifts from the family today, but most of all enjoyed spending the day with them.  Baxley and I went to church and then met up with everyone at Nonna’s for lunch. I love family time!

The 2 Best Mothers

E and I are SO blessed to have such wonderful mothers!Bax Christmas 099

They both taught us so much and now they are so hands on with our children.  I don’t know what we would do without them!  They have taught me so many things about being a mother and they are both there anytime we need them.  We are so grateful for all that they do for us!

Christmas 2011 079

Nonna and BB we hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day!

And happy Mother’s Day to all of the other women that help us and love our children!

In their Glory

May 001

Sam’s class made plants at school.  According to his teacher he found some rice in the room and put it in his plant to help it grow!  It didn’t work, his farmer daddy tried to explain to him that the rice soaks up the water…he didn’t care he was so proud!  We are going to have to make a new plant:)

May 011

Thursday the babies both ended up with some kind of stomach bug.  At about 11:00 that night they both were standing up in their beds vomiting at the exact same time!!! Really????  I was glad E was home to help me and really glad Nonna was off Friday so she could keep them while I worked.  This little momma has been exhausted!  I went to bed early last night and rested today…we all feel much better!!!
