Friday and Saturday

We spent Friday at the pool and when we made it back to the house the guys had arrived.  Saturday we got out on the boat at 9am so we could make it to the cardboard boat races.

These two boats were awesome!  The top one even had dry ice coming out the top and shot water.

We spent the rest of the day playing on the water.  Sam and Kohen had a big time jumping off the top of the boat and sliding.  E even got the babies to go down a few times.

This was Sam’s first time tubing.  E rode it with them for the first couple of times and then they went at it alone.  They went under pretty quick and Sam was done, but Kohen LOVED it!

I  love that we have been able to spend so much time at the lake this summer!  I hope we can get at least one more trip in before the end of summer!

Thursday morning, Lou and I took the kids to Heber.  We stopped by a toy train museum that Lou had read about in the paper.

The kids were pretty impressed!

I was in the living room at the lake house and could hear Bax talking.  I found her in the playroom reading!  She was talking up a storm!

Winding down with their games.

Monday Nonna, Blake, and I took the kids to the Pink Palace.  They really enjoyed it.

They loved the dinosaur exhibit and digging for bones.

We finished off the day at Jac Jac’s pool.

I love summer!

Sam’s Room

February 002

I am working on converting the babies room from a nursery to a toddler room and realized I never posted an update on Sam’s room.  I love the 3 paintings near the window that I used in his nursery, so I wanted to keep with that color scheme.  I didn’t want to spend a ton on bedding because with toddlers you never know what they might do to it.  The canvas above the bed is a picture of the back of Sam out by our pond.

Room Pics 002

These pics truly show my Sam, outside in his element!

Room Pics 001

This is a bulletin board I covered in burlap so Sam could hang some of his artwork and favorite pictures.

Sam’s room was pretty easy, the babies not so much!!!  Their room is small and I have had the hardest time trying to figure out what I wanted to do.  We have a guest bedroom, but it is on our end of the house and I’m not ready to move one of them down there yet.  I may eventually put the boys together or may end up putting Baxley in the guest room, so I don’t want to make a big investment.  I don’t have enough room for two twin beds to come out from the wall and they are too small for bunk beds.  So I found this…

Belden Bedroom Set of 2 Twin Beds & Corner Unit, Simply White

It is from Pottery Barn and a little over $2,000.  Yeah, I am not doing that considering it may be temporary….SO, my awesome Father In Law is going to build it for us!  I am working on picking out bedding which is kind of hard considering it is a boy and a girl, but I’m sure it will come together.

Out with the old, in with the new…so I have 2 white cribs for sale!  They do not convert.  I also have a white changing table and a changing pad. So, if anyone needs one for a grandparents house or whatever send them my way!

Max’s Birthday

We missed Max’s birthday party so Friday night we went over there for dinner.

My brave little girl loved the slide!

Max had a construction party and Holly had buckets for the kids.  They were AMAZING!!!  The whole party was amazing, I stole her pics and I’m going to post them on the next post.

The next morning Bax was still playing with her goodies.  How cute are these hats and sippy cups!!!

Sawyer & Baxley

The babies are 2 and a half!  I can’t believe how fast it is going and how much easier it is getting!  Most days they are really good and play really well together.  They always check on each other and want to know that the other one is okay.  I love their love for one another!

They both love watching Despicable Me and love playing with their iPod.  They love to swim and to be outside.  They are really into reading books and singing songs.

Bax-  Otherwise known around our house as Sissy or Princess Baxerella! She is so petite and tiny and we just all dote on her!

She is now potty trained and when she goes to the bathroom she asks me, “Mommy, are you proud of me?”.

She loves her baby, her blankie, Lola, Tangled, and her brothers.  She is so brave and will try anything and she loves to flip!

Sawyer J- Is the happiest little thing ever!  He is so loving and sweet and I could eat him up.  He is DEFINITELY a Momma’s boy!

He adores Sam and watches and mimics his every move.

He loves animals, balls, closing doors, his flip flops, and his mommy…did I mention he loves his mommy?

These 3 beautiful children make me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.  I love them so!!!

I love this little personality so much!!!

I am so proud of him every day.  He amazes me with his broad vocabulary and his eagerness to learn.  He has such a sweet spirit and cares so much for others.  He is the best brother and is constantly looking out for the babies and making sure they are safe.

He is so independent and dresses himself every day.  About 4 months ago he had an accident in the middle of the night (which he NEVER does).  He came and got in bed with us.  The next morning I asked him why he got in bed with us and he replied that he had wet the bed, but not to worry he had taken care of it.  He had put a towel on his bed, changed his jammies, put the wet ones in the laundry basket, and came and got in our bed.  How big!!!!

I look back over the past four years and think about how easy he did everything, getting rid of the paci, potty training, moving to a big boy bed, going to bed at night, and I am in awe at how big he is.

He loves music and knows the words to so many songs!  He definitely has his daddy’s ear for music.  His teacher told me that one student comes in singing nursery rhymes, one comes in singing praise songs, and Sam comes in singing Journey and Cheeseburger and Paradise.  His favorite song right now is Bruce Springsteen’s “Going Down”, which drives me INSANE!!!  He plays it constantly on his iPod.

He also loves Transformers, Power Rangers, and anything John Deere or farming.  He LOVES being outside and spends most of his time there.  He loves riding his tractor and pretending to farm.  He has recently been introduced to YouTube, thanks to the “I’m Farming and I Grow It” video and has found all kinds of things to watch.

We argue pretty regularly about his wardrobe.  I try to pick my battles and I rarely win!  He wants to wear his “work clothes” as he calls them, every day!  That includes his jeans (even in 100 degree weather) his insulated boots, his JD t-shirt and JD hat!  I constantly tell him that it is too hot and his is going to sweat and he constantly tells me that his Daddy sweats every day!  The boy ADORES his Daddy!!!!  Blake asked him to be in her wedding the other day and without missing a beat and as serious as can be he replies, “I can’t I’m working that day.”

He is a very scheduled child and has a nightly routine.  I love listening to what he wants to pray for.  I can’t wait to see what this next school year holds and I want to cherish each day!  I am so proud of him!!!
