Valentine Treats

Yesterday, Nonna and I put together the kids Valentine treats for school. We bought these popcorn boxes at Target in the $1 section. I put a package of popcorn in each one and attached a tag by BFF Linz made for me!

I thought they turned out super cute!

I was so glad we were able to make it to Daddy’s retirement party, it was such a special day.

The President of the bank spoke about all the things Daddy has done for the community and all the things he has done for the bank. They presented him with a few gifts and he was able to say a few words. The Mayor was also present and spoke about how much Daddy has done over the years for Grant County and made January 27th Roy Baxley day in Sheridan.

He has played golf almost every day since and is thoroughly enjoying retirement…you deserve it Daddy!

Atlantis and The Best Dinner

One day while on vacation we bought a day pass to go see Atlantis. It was very beautiful and very expensive. The suite in the archway is $25,000 a night and there is a 4 night minimum…yeah we are staying there next time we go…us and about 1000 of our closest friends:)

This week I am loving all the cute Valentine’s Day ideas on Pinterest and eighteen25.

I love that I took the kids roller skating for the first time! So fun! Sorry the pics are so bad.

I am loving that I have such good friends! I was in a pinch Monday and Lou came through for me like always…THANKS LOU!

I am loving the fun night E and I had with friends watching the Super Bowl! We are so blessed to have such great friends!

I am loving that Sam’s birthday invites came in and I am super pleased…thanks Christina!

I am not loving that I am missing Bible Study tonight, but after a long night of Parent Teacher Conferences last night I just wanted to see my kiddos and I LOVE my time with them!

Town and the Island

Late one afternoon we went to downtown Nassau. We went through the straw market, a few shops, and ate at Senor Frogs. The cruise ships were coming in behind us.

Ha! Barely made it!

The Sandals has a private island. It is just a quick 5 minute boat ride and it makes runs every hour. It has a restaurant, spa, pool, bar, and plenty of lay out spots.

I took this pic as we were leaving the island one day, but when you arrive someone is there waiting on you with drinks:)

That is the resort behind the guys.

Bahamas

Okay last birthday…until Sam’s that is!!!

We got Papa a wind Jacket. He is now retired and plans to golf every day so I thought it could come in handy. For Christmas we got him a cover thingy (ha) to put over his cart to keep him warm while he plays and a friend got him a heater so he is set!

He had a wonderful retirement party and I hope to post pics soon. Yesterday was his first day off and the weather was perfect! He played 44 holes of golf…loving it already!

My mom put together a party for the babies while we were in Sheridan and Nonna put together a party for them in HR! SO EASY!!! I thoroughly enjoyed both:) I know I am spoiled!!!

We had a great weekend. We celebrated my dad’s retirement Friday, birthdays in Sheridan Saturday, and birthdays in HR today! We are so blessed to have so many things to celebrate! This post I am going to post pics from the babies birthday party at Ms. Melinda’s.

Packing Again

I really should be packing for Sheridan, but I am on the computer. We are heading out tomorrow after school for Sheridan. My dad is retiring and they are having a send off for him and we want to be there. I have a few other things I need to take care of in Little Rock so it is working out perfectly.

Last Saturday was my nephew Gavin’s birthday, my dad’s is the 31st, and the babies turn two Sunday, so Saturday we are going to celebrate all four! We will then celebrate back home Sunday at Nonna’s house.

The babies birthday kind of crept up on me a little. We had Thanksgiving, and then Christmas, and then going back to school, and then trip to paradise, and a little bit of Mother’s denial, and bam they are two!!!!!! We are just having small family celebrations since this is the last year I can probably get away with it. Next year I promise to have them a party!

Tomorrow they will celebrate with their friends at Ms. Melinda’s. I am sending these precious cookies and ice cream cups.

I can’t wait to celebrate with them all weekend long!

Back to packing…

Back from our Beautiful Vacation!

We are home!!! We had THE BEST time! I can not say enough about how wonderful it was. We knew for a long time that we were going to take a trip with Bill and Linz, but I will honestly say the Bahamas was not my first choice. Bill wanted to go there and it made sense because it wasn’t that long of a flight. I had gone on a cruise to the Bahamas and wasn’t that impressed. I called an old friend who travels a lot and asked him about a couple of other places. He gave me lots of pros and cons to different locations and then I asked what he suggested. He then suggested the Bahamas…I was shocked.

We knew we wanted to go to a Sandals Resort. E and I got married at the Negril, Jamaica Sandals and Bill and Linz went to the Sandals in Antigua for their honeymoon. They are all inclusive and you can’t hardly go wrong. We all agreed we liked the Bahamas as much as the others, if not more!

We used Lindsay’s camera to take pictures so…no pressure Linz…but…can’t wait to get them:)

I was really afraid that I would be miserable about day 4 or 5 missing my kiddos. Don’t get me wrong I did miss them, but it was such a much needed getaway!!! I didn’t realize how exhausted I really was and it was so nice to just relax! The first night we were there I slept 12 hours! Saturday morning we headed back and I was so excited to get home to see them.

I can’t thank our parents enough for keeping them for us. We are so blessed and we appreciate them so much!!! We knew they were in great hands and we didn’t have a thing to worry about.

Preparing to Leave

We are preparing to leave tomorrow and I have mixed emotions. I am super excited about going to the beach (you know this girl loves a beach), but I am sad to leave the kids. I KNOW they are in great hands and I am not worried at all about them…I am worried about ME! I am going to miss them! I told E I am just looking forward to resting…and I am…I really need it, but I know about day 4 I will be ready to see them again.

When I was young we went to Florida every year. I would always ask my Mom if she was excited and she would always tell me she’d be excited when we left. I never truly understood that until now. As a mother, there are so many responsibilities and you are too busy taking care of all of them to even get excited. So, the excitement is setting in and Mom I get it!

I also haven't forgotten how I traumatized Sawyer when AKG and I had our little beach getaway. I pray that this time will be different, but I’m not counting on it! That boy loves his Mommy! I know I will come back rested and rejuvenated and ready to be an even better Mommy.

Yesterday afternoon E called and asked me to go to Jonesboro with him to pick up a few things he needed for the trip. Okay, this never happens!!! So, I agreed and we made a quick trip. This was E’s first time in Turtle Creek Mall. We have been together for 12 years and I have only known E to go to the mall once in all of those years.

So, I think we are ready. We are packed and my parents are on their way. Our plane leaves at 7am so we will be leaving the Ridge by 4am. I am so grateful that our parents are so willing to help us. Thanks so much!!!

I am loving these Tervis cups I got for Christmas. I always have a drink with me and have been looking for the perfect cup and I love these!!! They don’t sweat and they keep ice for HOURS!!! They are a little pricey, but so worth it!!!

23 Months

I can not believe the babies will be 2 this month!!!

OMG!!! I REALLY CAN’T BELIEVE IT!!!!

My snuggle bug!!!

Sawyer loves his big brother Sam and wants to be just like him. He is OBSESSED with technology and has the iPod in his hands way too much! He loves his new boots and where’s them around the house every day. He still loves looking out the window and watching the animals. He is so playful and so fun!

He is a great eater, there aren’t many things that he won’t eat. He loves fruit and pancakes. He wears size 2T and a size 5 diaper. He is also a great sleeper. He goes down really good at nap time and at night time. Baxley always wakes up before he does, but he almost always wakes up happy!

He is a big time mommy’s boy and really doesn’t like me leaving him anywhere. He has cried every morning that I have left him at Ms. Melinda’s since we started back this month. He wouldn’t quit crying in the nursery at church and I had to go get him. I hope it gets better soon:)

The princess of the house.

Baxley is loving Tangled and Lady and the Tramp! She likes to play with her jewelry and her dishes. She loves to have races with the boys and loves to count before she jumps to us. She loves to put on different shoes and always makes sure she has her hair bow. She is so tiny and we just tote her everywhere.

She is not a very good eater, but does love fruit. She wears 12-18 months and a size 4 diaper. She goes to bed well, but for the past week has been waking up crying in the middle of the night and it takes forever to get her to go back down. Poor little Sawyer J sleeps through her screaming right beside him. She always wakes up first and it takes her a few minutes to find her good mood.

She does pretty well when I leave her and does great at Ms. Melinda’s. She is still a Daddy’s girl and gets so excited when she sees him. Even though Sawyer loves to say “No, No, Sissy,” he adores her!

I LOVE that they are so close and love to be together!

I have to start with the fact that 2011 was AWESOME!!! The babies became little toddlers and Sam became a big boy…just ask him:) We had so many wonderful family times! E and I have finally figured out how to make all of this work and our little family is happier than ever! I feel so blessed everyday!!!

There are a few things that I would like to try to work on this next year…

I get really busy trying to get things done around the house, like laundry (I feel like laundry runs my life by the way), dishes, picking up, etc. and I miss out on some of those moments with my children. I really want to care less about the house (don’t worry I’m not going extreme) and spend more quality time soaking them in.

When Sam was little we read all the time. Now, that I have had my hands full, reading to the kids has not been a priority and I really want to bring that back!

I want to get back in a routine of going to church. I attend a Bible study every week, but I really want my kids to be back in church. Sawyer has some anxiety issues and we are just going to have to try to work through those.

Towards the end of 2011 I started running again and it made me feel so much better! I’m not trying to win a race or anything, I just want to feel a little healthier considering I live off of junk and Diet DP. Mornings are my hardest part of the day and I never felt like that was much of an option for me. I didn’t want to go after work because I just couldn’t justify that time away from my kids. Around October my school moved our teacher end of the day release time up and I felt that I would spend that time on some days running. I change at work and run an area near our school. I run 30 minutes and am picking my kids up by 4:15. I feel okay about it and want to continue to do it moving into 2012.

I hope 2012 is as great as 2011 was.

I didn’t want Sam to get up in the night before Santa had finished putting his toys out and I wanted to see his reaction so I put him in bed with me on Christmas Eve. During the night Sawyer ended up in bed with us and about 6:30 Baxley got in bed with us. Sam woke up (with all 5 of us in the bed) and this conversation happened:

Sam: Santa didn’t come

E: What do you mean

Sam: You told me if I stayed in bed all night Santa would come and he didn’t!

E: How do you know he didn’t come?

Sam: Because I didn’t hear him

E: Well you got a lot of toys at Nonna’s last night it will be okay.

Sam: Yeah it’s okay

E: There’s always next year

Sam: Yeah there’s always next year…puts his head back on the pillow, a few seconds of silence…it sure is a long time until next year Dad

Me: (I can’t take it) Let’s just go look and see if maybe he did come

Sam got Pop a John Deere book and wrote “Pop” inside of it for him. It was his first word to write! Notice Sam has taken his sweater off. He takes his shirt off all the time now and tells me, “it’s sweatin me”.

Being a mommy is so hard!!! Someone has thrown up in this house almost every day for the past 11 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sam had what seemed like a stomach bug 2 weekends ago. Then, Baxley threw up one night. Then, Sawyer has been sick off an on since last Thursday. Now, E has it and Sam is coughing his head off! I have given so many middle of the night baths and all the bedding in the house has been washed numerous times.

I have been up and down every night taking care of kids. One night I gave Sawyer the wrist gel and it had the opposite effect on him and he was up the ENTIRE night! I am running on fumes!!! So, today I took half a day off and Nonna and I took the kids to the doctor. Sawyer seems to be getting over a virus and has a terrible ear infection…they gave him a shot. Sam seems to have some version of RSV and was put on antibiotics. E hasn’t been able to get out of bed today and I really hope he feels better tomorrow. Looks like I will be sleeping in the guest bed…boo.

Nonna, thank you so much for all of your help today! I could not do this without you!

On top of all of this sickness and pure exhaustion a dear friend of mine lost his mother yesterday. I want more than anything to go to Sheridan to attend the services, but I just don’t know how I can swing it with such a sick family. Derrick and Morgan, I love you both so much and you are constantly on my mind and in my prayers!

It’s amazing how God gives us strength!!!

Baxley’s First Haircut

Baxley’s hair was getting long and I decided she probably needed a trim. I wanted her to get to go Pigtails and Crewcuts for her first hair cut since the boys both went there. We were headed to Sheridan for the weekend so I thought we could stop Friday on our way through. Audra was getting off about 5:00 and was going to meet us.

We got to the shopping center a little early and I knew Audra was probably fighting traffic so I decided I could take them in by myself (which I never do). We made it in pretty well and Baxley did great getting her hair cut. As we were leaving, I was carrying Baxley, Sawyer took off running out the door, I was about to drop Bax chasing after Sawyer, she lost her bow, Sam was biting her picture, and I was losing my mind!!!! About that time I could tell a man was about to get out of his car to help me and he set his alarm off. I look up and it is Randy Marsh…to the rescue!!!!

I was so excited to get to see Randy and Janice and of course Marsh. It was so crazy that they were there right then, right when I desperately needed help! This is example 23 why I never take all three of my kids places by myself!

We then met Audra and fed the kids Chick Fil A, which was an entirely different crazy story…oh my 3 kids!!!!

Sam was disappointed they didn’t have a princess chair for Sissy.

Audra ran in the White Rock Half Marathon in Dallas last weekend…in the rain! She did awesome! She finished in 2 hours and 11 minutes!

This week I am loving that Christmas cards are coming in every day! I love getting Christmas cards from all of our friends! It is one of my favorite parts of Christmas.

I am loving my friend Jodi! She does so many of the kids shirts for me and this past week she made Bax this precious outfit.

I am loving that this sweet boy is well and no one else in our house got sick. Thank God!!!!

23 Months

The babies are 23 Months and as Christmas approaches we are having so much fun!!!

Sawyer is the happiest boy! He still loves his Mommy and loves to cuddle. He loves to dance, play with his ball and wrestle with Sam.

This is his favorite spot in the house. He loves watching the animals. He is wearing size 2T clothes now and is a little chunk. He reminds me so much of E, such a little charmer….especially when he is in trouble!

Baxley is still the princess of the house. As I type this she is running around in her jammies, pink squeaky shoes (were cute for about 2 seconds), and her purse. She loves to take my finger and pull me around with her.

She loves shoes and jewelry. She also loves to talk on the phone and calls BB quite a bit for a quick chat.

Right now our car rides are pretty interesting. They are old enough now where the DVD will hold their attention so they aren’t so fussy. Their new thing is taking their shoes and socks off every time we get in the car which makes me crazy! Sawyer also loves to grab Baxley, which makes her scream and when I get on to him and tell him to leave her alone…he just laughs.

We have had a busy week. We had dinner at E’s parents for my birthday Tuesday night, I had Bible study Wednesday night, the Christmas Parade Thursday night, and we took the kids to the Pink Palace last night. I have more laundry than you can imagine! We are supposed to be at Parker’s birthday party right now and Mottie’s 90th birthday celebration this afternoon, but Sam is sick so looks like we will be home today. Pop went to town to get him some medicine and Gatorade. Bless his heart!

Tonight we celebrated my birthday over at Nonna and Pop’s. Nonna cooked a wonderful dinner and it was so nice to all be together.

E sent me a dozen roses to school…so sweet!

When I saw that The Elf on the Shelf was going to be on television Friday night I decided that Saturday would be the perfect time to introduce March (Sam named him last year). I had seen these cute little breakfast ideas on pinterest, but couldn’t get to town to pick up the things I needed. Luckily Aunt Linz was sweet enough to pick up a few things for me. I had some old tableware from last year and I had Linz pick up the donuts, chocolate milk, and a little gift from March. There are a few things I would have liked to add, but hey we do what we can do.

The kids were so excited when they woke up and found the table all fixed up for them.

This week the girls celebrated their 7th birthday. I can’t believe it has been 7 years! They are so beautiful and look so much like their mother. I know she would be so proud of them.

They are so good with the kids and Sam absolutely adores them. He calls them “the girls” and talks about them all the time. Every time he goes to Nonna’s house he wants to know if they will be there. I am so grateful that they are all so close and that they have such a strong bond.

Pop’s Birthday

21 Months

Over the past month the babies seem so much bigger to me! They are maturing every day and I can’t get over the fact they will be 2 before I know it! It happens so fast!

I am so late on this post so I snapped some quick and random pics.

The babies have finally started really talking and saying more than one word. Every time I take their picture they say…I anta see…and if I have food…I anta bite.

They eat, sleep, and play so well!

Baxley- Runs the show! She prances everywhere and has so much attitude. She knows EXACTLY what she wants and will throw a fit if she doesn’t get it! She is moving into size 18 month clothes, but is still my tiny little princess.

Sawyer- Is such a good time! He smiles and laughs all the time and I could just eat him up. Oh and he loves his Mommy!

I think God knew when he gave me 3 babies so close together that I REALLY needed all of them to be good babies. They are so much fun and I love them more than they will ever know! I feel so special to be their Mommy!

Awesome Wedding

Yesterday, I ran to Memphis with Nonna for the Jewelry Show. We got back in time for me to quickly get ready to head to Jim and Beth’s wedding. It was such a special night. It was held at the Smith House in Birdeye and the weather was perfect. I don’t even know how to describe it, it was the most personal, intimate wedding. They had a great band and we danced all night long (in between catching the ball games). It started at 5:00 and the band quit at 11:00. A 6 hour party with great friends…I think I will!

My Mom and Nana came and spent the weekend to help out with the kids. I feel so blessed to have the help I have.

Harvest Ends…Hunting Begins

I can’t believe harvest is over and I didn’t get a single picture!!! I am so upset about it, but hey a momma can only do what she can do. It just didn’t happen this year, better luck next year. E was very pleased with harvest and they have already worked some ground for next year.

E left for the mountains Friday, but is coming home tomorrow in time to Trick or Treat! I am keeping my fingers crossed that the kiddos cooperate. They did great the other night at the church’s Trunk or Treat. Sam and Baxley even won their age division of the costume contest. I didn’t get great pictures because I had to use an OLD camera. Marsh used to call it my 35mm. Anyway, my Mom took my camera to Bedford this past week and they got it working and cleaned it for no charge! She mailed it back to me and it is now back in my possession…thank the Lord!

We stayed home today and rested which was so nice because we have been going non-stop and this Momma was tired! I managed to take all 3 kids to a birthday party yesterday and even though they did great, it is hard to take 3 kids 3 and under anywhere…and stay sane that is:)

While at home I managed to get a lot done and made the kid’s treats for their class. I stole the idea from where else…Pinterest!

Race for the Cure

The kids and I went to Sheridan Friday afternoon for a packed weekend. Saturday morning I ran Race for the Cure with Audra and Gams. It is such a special day for Audra, her mother had breast cancer and her mother-in-law is a survivor. I was so glad I could run it with her this year. I used to run quite a bit before I started having babies. I started trying to get back into the swing of it a couple of months ago. Saturday morning was the first time I had ran 3 straight miles in almost 3 years. I did okay for my first time back at it. They medal the top 300 (out of like 40,000 or something.) I ran 28:38…Gams did great and Audra rocked it out with 25:02!!!!!! AWESOME!

After the race Audra and I ran a few errands and then headed back to Sheridan. We had an 80th birthday party for my Granny at my parent’s house. It was so good to celebrate with her and to visit with everyone. I took a bunch of pics and then Sunday morning couldn’t find my camera. Well….we finally found it…outside…in the rain!!! I can’t even talk about it right now.

So after Granny’s party we ran by Madeley’s birthday party. She is so precious and Morgan did a great job with her party. I stole a few pics from Morgan’s blog.

Yesterday was Pop’s birthday…we all love him SO MUCH!!! They are almost done with harvest so we are going to celebrate later in the week. Happy Birthday Pop!!!

Wynne Homecoming

Sam had two birthday parties this weekend. Linz and I had planned to go to Mistletoe Merchants on Saturday so Laura was sweet enough to let Sam go to Rhett’s party with them. On Sunday, Baxley was sick so Nonna stayed with her while I took the boys to Cooper’s party. It was at Village Creek and it was a beautiful day. He had a pirate theme and Sam loved it.

I had staff development today and really couldn’t miss it so my sweet mother drove up last night to stay with Baxley today. Baxley is feeling much better and I know she enjoyed all of the attention. Thanks BB!!!!!!!!

Kendall’s Homecoming

Well I survived a very hectic week! Things will hopefully slow down this week and I can catch up. Tuesday night was Kendall’s Homecoming. She looked beautiful and I was so proud of her!!! What an honor for her to be selected by her classmates.

The friends that listen to you gripe a million times and are there to cheer you on. The friends who will pick your kids up and who will love them like their own. I am so lucky to have so many GREAT friends. Everyone who loves me has practically helped me get through this crazy hectic week. The weather has been great so E has been cutting non-stop and I have really leaned on my friends to help me out this week. I hope they know how much I appreciate them!

A Restful Weekend

20 Months

The babies are getting so big! They are finally talking and are so sweet to each other (most of the time). They play great together and play great with Sam.

Sawyer is the sweetest thing ever! I could eat him up! He loves to be with his mommy and is go good at taking care of his Sissy. Anytime she starts to cry he brings her the pacifier, cup, or starts patting her.

Baxley is SO independent and strong willed. She is going through a stage where she wants it HER WAY!

See…ha! She gets so mad if we don’t give her what she wants.

And there is my sweet Sawyer, trying to make it better. She got in trouble this week for biting him at Ms. Melinda’s.

And Sam takes care of all of us:)

Loving Every Second

Today was perfect! It was beautiful and we took advantage of it. We came home from school and played outside until the mosquitoes were about to carry us off. We went in, I cooked dinner, we ate, had baths and PLAYED! We did puzzles, played catch, and read books. Everyone was in a good mood and we had a lot of laughs. I had parent teacher conferences last night so it was so good to have some quality time tonight.

My parents and Nana came this weekend to help me get a few things done around the house and to see the kids. We had a great weekend! I don’t know what I would do without my parents! I had a list a mile long of things I wanted to get done and we concurred it and more! We even made time to watch the Hogs and go to the park.
